Ca’ Foscari Esposizioni

Ca’ Giustinian de’ Vescovi

On the south side of Ca’ Foscari, Ca’ Giustinian de’ Vescovi hosts Ca’ Foscari exhibition
spaces, 800 square meters including the entrance hall, the hall on the first floor and
other smaller rooms. Decorative stuccoes, polychromatic and gold decorated beams,
monumental fireplaces and terrazzo flooring make the area truly precious. The staircase
connecting the two floors looks out on a charming, internal courtyard, one of the most
important places in the building, where the monumental work, Niobe, stands. The statue,
by Napoleone Martinuzzi, laments the loss of her ‘ideal children’, the students and
teachers who died during the wars in the last century
